3-0 Andhita Dananjaya
4-0 Alvin Kennardi
5-0 Andhita Dananjaya
It was the first match of the group, as PINTU FC faces NAFA on a very hot noon in Premier Pitch Khalsa, pitch 2. PINTU FC pressed NAFA from the kick off and were able to open the scoreline on the first minute of the game, when Andhita Dananjaya slotted the ball to the net after scramble on NAFA's area. That goal made PINTU FC more confident in the game and they grew dominating the match. They were controlling the flow, spraying the ball around, and creating few chances. Andhita nearly doubled the lead but his shot from the right flank just wide from the target.
PINTU FC finally scored another goal via Reinardus Channing. Andhita made a great run on the right flank and crossed the ball to Kennardi, but the keeper parried it just to see Channing smashed the loose ball to the goal, 2-0. That goal made NAFA defence a bit unorganized and PINTU FC took advantage by scoring two successive goals. Andhita Dananjaya scored his second goal of the match after receiving a nice through pass from the left side. Less than one minute, Alvin Kennardi added the fourth with his beautifully taken shot. The first half ended by four goals to nil.
After the break, the game became more open. NAFA was not afraid to come out from their area to launch few attacks. Alvin Kennardi was forced to foul the oposition near the penalty area, getting a yellow card in the process, but the freekick is well-blocked by the wall. NAFA's number 89, Pandji, was the closest from NAFA to pull something from the game, as he got to the nice position to shot in the prime area, but Eugene denied it with his leg. He made another chance with his long distance shot, but again, Eugene punched the ball away to corner.
On the other end, PINTU FC created handful chances. Felix got a nice one on one chance but NAFA's keeper made a brilliant save to deny him. Billy got another chance as he dribbled past the keeper but he lost control of the ball but the ball went out for goal kick. Irvan Indra had good game as he ventured forward few times and got to few nice area, but the keeper was on par to denied him. Andhita Dananjaya was lively throughout the game, made numerous of dangerous runs and unleashed few dangerous shots, which unluckily went wide. However, nearing the end the match, he finally completed the hat-trick. He dribbled past the defender on the right hand side and struck it to the roof of the goal. The keeper had no chance to stop it.
Full time, 5-0 for PINTU FC, and they went to the top of the group, as NUS hadn'tplayed their game yet.
PINTU FC vs NUS 4-0
1-0 Alvin Kennardi (pen)
2-0 Reinardus Channing
3-0 Alvin Kennardi
4-0 Billy Sebastian
It's a big match, as two arch rival, PINTU FC and NUS met again, but this time in the group stage. Nevertheless, that does not lower the tension of the match, as both teams aiming for the top of the group, even though both of the team has already secured the ticket to the next round. PINTU FC was on the top of the group, only leading through goal difference. NUS previosuly had beaten NAFA 2-0 in a hard fought game.
Both teams tried to find the balance and control of the game, but no team was able to stamp the authority, yet. PINTU FC got one excellent chance as Andhita drifted away from the defender and unleashed a wicked shot, only to see the ball wide fromthe target. NUS, on the other side, got a nice chance from a freekick, but it was tipped wide by Eugene. After an evenly 10 minutes, it was PINTU FC who got the chance to lead. NUS player unintentionally touched the ball with his hand, but it was justified that it was a clear penalty. Alvin Kennardi, who missed the penalty against NUS in the Liga PPIS 2013, was the one to take. This time he kept his nerve, and calmly sent the keeper to wrong way, 1-0. That was the only goal on the first half, as the ref blew the whistle few moments after that goal.
On the second half, NUS pressed hard to get the equalizer, but it was PINTU FC who scored the goal. Reinardus Channing was left open by NUS defender and he blasted the ball to the far corner of the goal. The keeper moved the right way, but he couldn't do anything to prevent it. It was a beautifully taken goal by Channing, pure class, as the ball "teleported" to the back of the net.
That goal seemed to break NUS spirit, and PINTU FC looked more calm and organized, yet spirited in the game. Alvin Kennardi scored a memorable goal, and probably one of the best in his career for PINTU FC. Alvin was fouled by Apek of NUS in PINTU's own area, and the referee awarded a direct freekick. He expertly lobbed the ball past NUS keeper who was out of position. The ball hit the top crossbar before getting into the goal, 3-0. It was sheer brilliance by Kennardi and the crowd seems really enjoyed that goal.
The actions didn't stop there, for sure. Billy Sebastian delivered the final blow as he smashed the ball well to beat the keeper, after feinting past one defender, 4-0. NUS nearly grabbed a consolation goal as their number 18 dribbled past Irvan and tried to chip the ball past Eugene, only to see the crossbar denied him and went out for the kick-in.
The scoreline might be exaggerating, but it was clear PINTU deserved the win after such a solid display. This result ensured PINTU FC stayed on top, and they will face MDIS in the Quarter Final, which will be held next week, 16 March, on the same place.
